The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People Audio Book

The best way to think of the audio version of Stephen Covey’s ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People’ is as a ninety minute preview of the original book. Albeit a fantastically appealing preview but one that has you begging to read the rest of the book, as this compact audio makes abundantly clear, there are no quick fixes to the things that have been ailing us both in our professional and personal lives. A lot of work went in to creating the book version, and certainly some huge changes at a personal level are certainly attainable – and because of this, it would be nigh on impossible to even try and get half of that content onto an audio book.
Convey’s approach at being an effective person are perfectly narrated in this audiobook and the script manages to do a first class job of unravelling the implications of his rather intense style of portraying his habits. Just the first three habits alone that he mentions, which all entail personal leadership, responsibility and self-management, could possibly take many years to perfect, while the last four are unachievable if you cannot attain the personal security that seemingly come from a firm grasp of the foundation. That’s what we’re led to believe, anyway.
Covey’s knack of throwing in references about T.S. Elliot and Socrates along with his endearing capability to mix stories with theoretical notions, gives the listener a feeling of being respected by the author, as opposed to having their intelligence insulted by him!
